Beware of blessings without his presence. Exodus 33 1 – 3 It’s possible to be blessed with land, milk, and honey (miraculous provision) without His Presence.
Leaders need skills and strategy especially in a public meeting to discern and release the river.
King David asked how does the ark (river) come to me? I Chronicles 13:12
1: Take intentional time personally to let the river flow in your life.
2: As the leader of the meeting ask the Lord to make you a thermometer.
That is how to measure the level of the river in the meeting:
In Your spirit
In your soul
In your body
The river and its manifestations will break the spirit of careerism and professionalism in Christian leadership. (Bob Jones)
4: Be willing to be spontaneous not predictable
5: Recognize the source of the river for that particular meeting or day. Will He come through:
The lightning rod in the congregation
Laying on of hands
NOT laying on of hands
Separate meetings designated for the river to flow ??????
6: Broaden your definition of the river – it’s not just manifestations. Don’t let carnal people define the river for you.
7: Understand that the river works with JOY. Joy is a breakthrough force. Work with worship leaders so that there is a spirit of joy in a river meeting.
8: Don’t be idealistic in the river. An experience in the river doesn’t guarantee righteousness or spirituality. River people can still fall (and sadly do).
9: Educate your people in the River. Explain that “this is that ” as Peter did out of the Scriptures in Acts 2:14-21
10: Know the three primary responses of people watching the river move (Acts 2: 12-13):
WOW response – Amazed
HUH response – Perplexed
YUK response – Mocking
In Acts 17:31-34 we see the same 3 fold pattern of responses.
11: The River DOES have banks:
A willingness to be corrected
A balance with teaching sound doctrine
12: The River has turns. Acts 13:45-46 Paul said we will now TURN to the Gentiles.
